She also studied abroad in 2004 at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. She has shown in multiple cities in the southern U.S. and is now beginning to exhibit her work in Thailand. She moved to Chiang Mai in late March of 2006 to pursue a teaching position at Dara Academy where she is now teaching English and Art while continuing to create free lance art both personally and professionally.

Technique
While attending university Emily's painting professor shared with her his knowledge of ENCAUSTIC, his medium of choice. "I used this medium only once and fell in love with it" she says. ENCAUSTIC is an ancient medium that was used as far back as 5 B.C. It has steadily grown in popularity throughout the art world for everyday use as well as among spectator interest during the past 50 to 100 years.

ENCAUSTIC ic natural medium of molten bees wax applied to wood panels or canvas. The wax is heated to a liquid state and then pigmented with oil paint or natural substances. Dammar resin is then added to form the ideal encaustic medium. Artistically, it has numerous uses and appears in a diverse range of forms. Emily's technique consists of a combination of encaustics, oil paints, oil pastels, spray paint, stenciling, and transfer imagery.
